On 28 March 2007, some fifty organizations met at Théâtre de l’Athénée Louis Jouvet in Paris to launch a joint operation to make the private copying system better known. This gave rise to a new label: La Culture avec la Copie Privée. This carried further in 2008 when La Culture avec la Copie Privée Association was founded.

Its purpose is to make the private copy levy better known along with its interest for the public and consumers, and highlight its key role in promoting cultural diversity and artistic vitality in our country and all the European countries having adopted it.

Chaired by Christophe Barratier, author, director and film producer, La Culture avec la Copie Privée Association groups Collective Management Societies, Associations representing the general public, trade unions and professional associations. On 1 July 2013, the Board of Directors was made up of: ADAMI, ADAGP, ARP, PROCIREP, SACD, SACEM, SAIF, SCAM, SOFIA, SPEDIDAM and SPPF.
